Capitol Area NAWIC Lansing: Supporting Women in Construction
Capitol Area NAWIC Lansing is part of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). NAWIC started out as Women in Construction in Fort Worth, Texas, way back in 1953, thanks to sixteen women who worked in the industry. Back then, women were a pretty small group in construction, so these founders came together to build a strong support network for each other.
By 1955, Women in Construction of Fort Worth had gone national and became the National Association of Women in Construction. Since then, Capitol Area Lansing NAWIC has spent over fifty years helping out the industry, its members, and the community. We're proud of how much we've grown, both in numbers and in the impact we've had. Today, our chapter keeps shaping what it means to be a woman in construction, and we're always excited to welcome new faces as we keep moving forward.
Why Join NAWIC?
Being part of NAWIC means you get tons of chances to boost your leadership skills, hear about new trends in construction, and connect with people all over—locally, regionally, and across the country. Our National and Regional Conferences are great for meeting new folks, learning from others, and growing your network in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
